Jade attended Laygate Primary School in South Shields, moving onto secondary school at St Wilfred’s RC College, also in South Shields. Jade left St Wilfreds’ with 13 GCSE’s and went on to North Tyneside College where she gained 1 “A” and 2 “B” Grades in her A-levels.
X factor 2011 was the third time Jade had auditioned for the X factor, having previously auditioned in 2008 & 2010. Jade has advanced to bootcamp on both previous occasions. Jade sang “I Want To Hold your hand” by The Beatles for her 2011, Series 8 X factor audition at the LG Arena in Birmingham. With 4 yes votes from the other judges Jade progressed to bootcamp for the third time, where she was yet again unsuccessful in proceeding as a solo artist.
Jade was originally placed in a 3 piece band named “Orion” with fellow future Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Orion were unsuccessful in progressing as a group, but Jade and Leigh-Anne were asked to form a new 4 piece band named “Rhythmix” with Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson.
Jade is considered by the Perrie to be the cutest member of Little Mix, and was given the nickname “Cutie Mix” by the band. During her X Factor audition, Jade was described by Tulisa Contostavlos as looking like a “Disney Character”.
Currently Jade Thirlwall is reported in the press as being in a relationship with Sam Craske from the dance band Diversity. Jades musical influences are reported to include Beyonce Knowles and Cheryl Cole.
